Flat Track

Our view yesterday from the luxury suites at the flat track. I love the people watching there - it's pretty fabulous. I can't help but feel a bit like I'm at a theme party when I'm there...dress? Check. Hat? Check. It's like a toga party - but older.

Five times at the track this year and that was plenty for me. This was a wonderful way to cap off the craziest six weeks of summer.

Oh August...

Technology

Is having THE longest day ever.

However, I have now joined twitter and am mobile blogging. I even have a gmail account. What's up technology?! Came across this video the other day and while it's pretty slick it's also really interesting. Check it here: http://tinyurl.com/nutlrj

First post

First blog tonight - I'm tired and ready to head to bed. We're working on planning our trip to South Africa for the World Cup next summer, trying to sell my house in VT, working on a project for Girls Inc., learning about refinancing and checking up on friends and family online. While I should be making a budget to see how long it will take to have an empty VT house before I go broke...I'm creating a blog. Nice use of my time, eh?

After my wonderful kayaking adventure with Ilana yesterday on Saratoga Lake I've been thinking about how lucky I've been over the last few years to be able to play outside in some really amazing places. We've been surfing in Costa Rica, white water rafting on the Black, surfing in France and Spain, scuba diving in Hawaii, ponting in England, snowboarding in Whistler, BC and too many places in VT/NH/NY to even mention. We've hiked and biked and wakeboarded and wandered all over New England and NY and overall - wow. I don't know what about yesterday made that hit me - but I'm feeling terribly grateful to the universe, or whomever, for such a sweet gig so far.

I'm starting to get super excited about the trip overseas. We're looking at routing through Egypt, Dubai or London - I think everyone who's been anywhere near me after our debaucle in Heathrow last year coming back from the Basque region knows exactly how I feel about Heathrow (lol). We're all thinking about different options to get there as inexpensively as possible, it will be a trek to be sure. The longest flight in the world - literally!

I'm hopeful that this will be a nice spot to keep tabs on my little life adventure, and that someone will want to read it...Love,
